JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PURCHASE HEAD
Position Manager (Purchase)

Educational Qualifications & Experience (Must) B.E.(Mechanical) with 15 to 20 years of experience preferably in Auto Component industry

Desired Profile Knowledge of Vendor Development & Procurement of Commodities like CR, HR and Special Steel, Casting, Forging, Sheet Metal Components, Machined Components, Press Tools, Packaging materials etc.

Age Group 40-45 years CTC- upto Rs.25 Lakhs

Job Responsibilities:

• Identification, evaluation and development of vendors/suppliers for cost effective procurement for the commodities such as CR Steel, HR Steel, Special Steel, Casting, Forging, Sheet Metal Components, Machined Components etc.
• Sourcing and procurement of non-production items such as Capital Equipments, Press Tools, Dies, Jigs, Fixtures, Cutting Tools, Consumables, Oils, Chemicals, Packing Materials etc.
• Review of quotations, cost estimation, costing of parts, cost comparison.
• Negotiations with Vendors for price, procurement terms, Vendor managed inventories.
• Budgeting and planning for procurement and sourcing of materials ensuring optimum utilization of materials & maximum cost saving.
• Responsible for ensuring monthly scheduling, timely material availability, schedule adherence by close follow-up with suppliers.
• Ensuring Vendor capacity enhancement to ensure Zero line loss
• Monitoring the performance of the Vendors / Vendor rating based on various criteria.
• Preparation of supplier audit Plan, supplier audit as per plan and supplier upgradation and development for QMS and product quality in co-ordination with QA.
• Responsible for Cost reduction through negotiations, alternate sourcing, VA/VE and better logistics.
• Responsible for continuous monitoring of commodity prices and price reduction activity with suppliers
• Knowledge of Imports, Taxes and Inco-terms.
• Co-ordination & Liaisoning with Freight Forwarders/CHA for Clearance of imported materials.
• Responsible as a CFT member to establish quality standards, PPAP & APQP activities and acceptance criteria etc. at supplier end.
• Responsible for Inventory Control through various tools & techniques.
• Working knowledge of documentation for ISO9001/IATF16949:2016
• Handling of Outside Services/Job work.
• Co-ordinate with all department managers throughout the organization to achieve targets.
