One of the most important keys to becoming a more efficient employee
is learning the value of cooperation. For some reason people fear
being labeled as un-cooperative in the workplace, so this is the
ideal position to place yourself in. Whenever anyone responds negatively
to your requests, all you need to do is say... Hmmmm I wonder how J.P.
(fill in the bosses name) would react if he were to find you totally un-cooperative
in working towards an issue so close to his heart. Remember, a cooperative employee is a pleasure to work with. |

| Minimize Expenses: |
C'mon now, do they really expect people to believe this rubbish? This was a
public relation department's poor attempt to con people into thinking that if
they saved the company money that they would receive more pay. Wrong!... it
results in the boss taking the PR men out to lunch for allowing him to purchase
that new Mercedes in the parking lot. So use this to your advantage... when you
are in 'hot water' casually mention how the PR boys are spending far too much money
and you are worrying if there will be enough left over for the company to allow
lunch hours or some other BS like that... It won't work but it'll set there minds
on thinking of new and better ways to squeeze every drop of energy from you.
Remember, every dollar you save the company could result in a larger paycheck for yourself. |

| Become Promotable: |
Let's face it, the key to becoming promoteable deals in 2 important issues. First
of all, nobody wants to promote anyone that they think will know more than they do.
They would then have to worry that you would be a threat to their job Do your job well
but appear to be somewhat dazed at times too. Consider goofing up a few unimportant
projects now and then appear ready to accept blame for it's failure and vowing to work
harder on the next project. The second thing to consider is that business owners promote
people they like and would feel comfortable working with (also applies to hiring too)
so be easy to get along with, in terms with the boss. But never under any circumstances
kiss ass. Nobody likes a brown noser... even the boss hates them and they haven't a
chance to really get anywhere.
Work hard and be commited to do what is necessary to succeed. |
